At Elite Tape, we make it a point to hire positive, compassionate, hard-working individuals who enjoy working at a rewarding place where they can truly make a difference. One such employee is Edith Granados, and we are excited to introduce her as our Employee Spotlight for the month of May!

Edith has been with Elite Tape since October 2020, and we’re so glad that she’s a part of the Elite family. She has been an amazing addition to our team over the past seven months and we’re excited to watch her grow even further in her career at Elite Tape. As a part of our great team of quality control professionals, Edith supports the team by checking the quality of incoming and outgoing materials by analyzing products, and overseeing procedures. She also helps with inventory when need be.

According to Ally Woody, Customer Service/Sales Support at Elite Tape, Edith is an invaluable asset to the team. “Every organization requires strong team players, and Edith is just that. Not only is she a committed worker, but she is also a great human being,” she said. “Any company would be lucky to have somebody like Edith.”

Edith mainly works on the REM 62” Rewind Slitter, however, because she is cross-trained on all the machines at Elite Tape, her day-to-day responsibilities fluctuate. “If someone is out, I’m able to jump on a machine and fill in for them. It makes every day interesting,” she said. “Everyone on the team is extremely willing to help each other out and because I’m properly trained on all the machines, I really enjoy the range of work.”

With Edith’s abilities, knowledge, and willingness, she has assisted the team by covering multiple positions. “Edith is an outstanding performer, fast learner, and very skillful. She has learned to set up machines to do diverse functions and is always willing to lend a helping hand,” said Manuel Figueroa, Operations Manager at Elite Tape. “She is the perfect fit for the Elite group.”

Before joining Elite Tape, Edith worked for a printing company for nine years where she struggled to achieve a work/life balance. A good friend and former coworker of hers started working at Elite Tape and asked her to come on board. “I thank God that Tyrone thought of me for this position,” Edith said. “I’ve been the happiest person since starting here and I have so much more time that I get to spend with my family.”

When asked what she loves most about working for Elite Tape, Edith narrowed her answer down to the team-driven atmosphere. “A lot of times, at both smaller and bigger companies than Elite Tape, people only watch out for themselves. It’s the complete opposite here,” she said. “It really does feel like a family where everyone looks out for each other.” Edith also enjoys that there is always something new to learn and that everyone on the team is willing to teach her.

From the top-down, the people we work with and the people we serve are at the core of our business. “I think the positive and uplifting work environment can be attributed to the leadership at Elite Tape,” Edith said. “Every day that I come into work, everyone is in a good mood and leadership does a great job at building you up and putting a smile on your face even when you’re feeling down.” Edith also gives credit for employee satisfaction to the donuts and many other tasty treats that make their way into the office every week.

In her free time, Edith enjoys visiting forest preservations and going on walks. She also loves spending time with her family and boyfriend, even if it’s just sitting around the table and drinking coffee.
