TAPES FOR HEAT SEALING APPLICATIONS
Elite Tape offers an array of tapes that are used in the bag manufacturing/bag converting industry. These specific products are used on heat sealing equipment upper and lower sections of the sealers to allow the bags that are being heat sealed to release from machine and run continuous through the machine. In most cases there is also a hot knife cutting area that cuts to the finished bag size and seals three edges of the bag.
The sole purpose of the tapes is to allow the heat from the sealer to permeate through the tape to seal the bag film and release cleanly/quickly. Friction is a component here as well since the bag film travels at high speeds and the pressure of the heat seal bar punching onto the tape will wear it down over time. In most cases during this process the bag manufacturer is applying the spooled or fingerlift tapes in-line and the finished bag can then be filled and sealed by the customer/consumer.
